Morbi gets gas
go-ahead! - November 9th 2006 (page 2)
"We have already
commissioned 126 km of pipelines through which we
have started transporting gas to customers. The completed
sections include the Hazira-Mora stretch of 15 km,
the Amboli-Dahej stretch of 45 km, the stretch between
Bhadbhut and Paguthan of 30 km, Mora-Utran (25 km),
Suvali-Mora (7 km) and Mora-Interconnector (4km),
while another 76 km of pipeline connecting Paguthan
to Vadodara is close to commissioning," said
C K Koshy, chairman of GSPCL.
"With the entry two major players in the LNG
market recently, Shell and LNG Petronet, we are hopeful
of earning revenues not only by selling gas being
explored by GSPCL but also by letting out our pipeline,"
he added.
Work is also fast progressing on another 233 km of
pipeline sections including Vadodara, Kalol, Ahmedabad
and Mora-Sajod sections, which are scheduled for completion
within the next one year.
With the gas grid is place, GSPCL is targeting a
sales revenue of Rs 3,000 crore at the end of the
fiscal year 2005-06 against a sales revenue of Rs
450 crore at the end of last fiscal.
