Morbi gets gas

"Pipelines are an
integral part of the infrastructure required for the
Natural Gas as well as LNG industry. With supply of
gas slated to increase manifold in the coming years,
the company's operations are also expected to grow.
GSPL has achieved revenue of over Rs 90 crore during
the year 2002-03, which is more than four-fold, increase
over the last year's revenues," said a company
official.
Significantly, GSPCL
has found a rich reserve of gas and oil from the first
well, it has been exploring in the Ahmedabad exploration
block.
GSPCL which was awarded
the block spread over 200 square km by the Government
of India under its NELP-II scheme during June, 2001,
has already initiated evaluation of the reserve and
will finalise the commercial production plan in another
week's time after it completes drilling another 200
metres to reach the bottom of the 2000 metre depth
well.
The company also has
found rich reserve of natural gas in the Krishna-Godavari
basin and it also has been working together with Canada-based
Niko Resources in another block.
